Purple Tuesday 2023 was celebrated across the world as well as in many CareTech offices and Services, promoting disability inclusion and accessibility with the goal of improving the customer experience for disabled people and their families 365 days a year.

In recent years Purple Tuesday has become a global social movement that is celebrated on the first Tuesday of November and Staff and residents at CareTech’s ‘The Avenue’ in Watford came together along with Amanda Grimston from the Watford Chamber of Commerce to light The Avenues up in purple and party the night away.

The evening was a double celebration as The Avenues was CareTech’s first ever Care Home opened 30 years ago, making the evening even more special.

CareTech’s Group Executive Marketing Director, Joan Bone was thrilled with the celebrations, adding: “It was lovely to see the staff and residents coming together to celebrate Purple Tuesday. Lighting The Avenues up in purple created lots of attention with neighbours and passers-by giving us the opportunity to spread the Purple message and engage with the local community. It was also wonderful to have Amanda from the Watford Chamber of Commerce with us as her involvement and continued support is invaluable in helping us spread the message of accessibility and inclusivity to a wider audience”
