Our Mission
Since we began our social care mission, person-centred support has been central to the CareTech philosophy. Our Personalisation Strategy describes our approach to tailored care and brings together every aspect of our organisation. We put the interests and needs of the individual at the heart of every decision we make.
From our specialist services to our supported living residences, the interests, preferences and goals of each service user are assessed and discussed with them at length. Their independent choices are then implemented into their lives, whether this involves supporting someone to decorate their room to their taste or sensory needs, assisting them with planning a daily routine or ensuring consistent steps are taken to achieve a larger goal they have set.
We have seen time and time again the positive outcomes that result from this thoughtful and inherently personal approach to care; the individual knows that their voice is being heard, valued, and their requests actioned. It ensures a level of comfort and trust that their wishes will be honoured and their independence kept at the forefront of all decisions while they are supported by us.
CareTech Values
We have a common set of five values that define us: Friendly, Positive, Innovative, Empowering and Person-Centred. We are proud to say that our staff wholly embody each of these qualities. The values are the spirit in which we do things around here, whether it is getting things right first time or making sure our behaviours towards each other are underpinned with a fun, fair friendly approach.
As these principles are paramount to our mission of delivering the best possible care, we arrange values based training to ensure all new starters are apprised of the significance to their daily work.
Staff Well-Being
The second part of our purpose encompasses our incredible staff. We hold our employees in the highest esteem and have created policy and programmes to promote their well-being and chosen career paths through the company.
Our new ‘Thank You, Recognition & Reward’ scheme celebrates all the hard work our staff do to create extraordinary days every day for the people we support. The new scheme will drive and foster a culture of reward and recognition. ‘Thank You’ is open to all staff and we encourage them to put forward colleagues who display the CareTech values to be both recognised and rewarded for their contributions.
Engaging with our workforce through the new Staff Consultative Committee (SCC) will become a vehicle for the ‘Voice of the Organisation’ whose views and thoughts will help shape the organisation that we want to be, and assist us to become an employer of choice.
The Committee discusses employment matters and the general interests and welfare of staff. It reviews the annual work programme and ensures that it addresses all relevant workforce, organisational development and training development issues. This is to support the CareTech Group to recruit, retain and develop our workforce appropriately and sufficiently.
