Rehabilitation Hospital
Rehabilitation hospitals, sometimes referred to as inpatient mental health or psychiatric hospitals, specialise in the assessment and treatment of mental disorders such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or personality disorders. These disorders may disrupt a person’s ability to function independently or as part of a community, participate in employment, maintain positive relationships or cope with the demands of every-day life.
Multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to develop bespoke care and treatment plans that are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual.
Care plans should focus on enablement or re-enablement, inclusion, community integration, maximising independence and autonomy to promote self-directed recovery, minimising risk and behaviours that challenge and optimising physical health.
