Residential Care
CareTech provides individually focused residential care and support for young people and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and associated social care needs.
When the decision is made that residential support is required, CareTech staff will meet with the individual to carry out a comprehensive assessment of need to ensure that the right placement can be found. A number of our homes are purpose-built, ensuring that each person’s specific needs can be met. We have bungalows that offer ground floor accommodation or if stairs are not a problem, two or three floor houses are available. The locations of the homes can be in town centres or in rural areas depending on the personal interests and lifestyle of the individual.
In each service there will be a team of skilled and dedicated staff in sufficient number to meet the individual needs of each person living in the home. Each person is encouraged to take an active part in their life at the care home through residents’ meetings and one-to-one time spent with the staff. Activities are planned through personal choice and can include individual and group pastimes including holidays and weekend breaks, as well as introductions into community-based activities such as colleges and day services.
Meal times are an important part in everyone’s lives; within our residential services each person is encouraged to choose the menus and meals they would like to eat. Dietary needs based in religious observances, health or personal likes or dislikes will be met and provided for.
All of CareTech’s residential services are registered with the regulatory body The Care Quality Commission (CQC), and each service works towards a high standard of compliance. In addition, CareTech services have their own internal systems of assessing quality, plus a team of highly experienced and skilled staff to ensure that each individual in our care maintains a dignified and meaningful life.
