Lyndhurst provides residential support to people living with the most complex mental health needs.
Lyndhurst is registered with the Care Quality Commission as a specialist residential care home for men and women with complex or enduring mental health disorders.
With accommodation across three houses and an experienced staff team, we are able to support individuals with complex challenging behaviour or a forensic history, to transition from acute or secure services into a community setting.
We are able to support individuals who are subject to a Community Treatment Order (CTO), or Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
Our model of care focuses on the principles of Recovery Star, which places the individual at the centre of the decision making. The ‘star’ contains ten areas covering the main aspects of people’s lives, including daily living skills, relationships, work, identity and self-esteem.
Service users are encouraged to set their own goals within each area and measure over time how they are progressing. This can help them identify future goals and the support they require to reach them. We believe the best form of recovery is self-directed.
Many of our residents are working towards discharging themselves to their own home or supported living accommodation with their own tenancy.
Lyndhurst is located in North Finchley, a suburb of London in the London Borough of Barnet, situated seven miles north-west of Charing Cross. It is primarily a residential and shopping area and a gateway to a diverse range of occupational, recreational and vocational opportunities.
