Redbourne Centre is located in Redbourne; a village in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.
The Redbourne Centre provides specialist rehabilitation for up to 14 men diagnosed with a learning disability or autism, who require support with their physical or mental health, in a supportive, therapeutic and homely environment.
Our experienced, nurse led team, works collaboratively to develop personalised care and treatment plans to deliver a holistic approach to support. We seek to maximise community integration, independence, and quality of life and support individuals to acquire or reacquire the skills needed to live more independently.
Service users set their own goals and objectives and work towards achieving them at a pace they are comfortable with, allowing them to gain increased autonomy over the care and support they receive. Support is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and will be adapted as resilience, coping strategies, confidence and self-reliance is developed. Effective risk management and reduction in behaviours that challenge form an important element of the care planning process, which incorporates positive, meaningful engagement and reinforcement.
As part of our positive behaviour support approach we complete a functional assessment of behaviour, define and measure target behaviours and develop a range of functional skills and reactive strategies. We provide positive reinforcement, systematic feedback and adopt predictable, planned interventions to de-escalate.
Both quality of life and quality of care are equally valued in the work we do. Staff work closely with residents to identify a range of meaningful social and leisure activities, aligned to their specific interests.
