Care Home Open Week, hosted by Championing Social Care, was run from 27th June – 3rd July 2022. Care Home Open Week is a brilliant opportunity for care homes to reach out, connect and celebrate the care delivered in social care with their local and wider community. Most of all, the importance of the Care Home Open Week is to have fun, communicate and reflect on all that goes into making the social care sector the marvel that it is.

Sean King, the Operations Director of Central and Community Living Services was proud to represent CareTech said: “The residents shared their journey with Mr. Yasin and Cllr. Atkin discussed the challenges in the social care sector and praised staff members for their dedication and commitment.”

Mohammed Yasin MP, who was impressed with the quality of care provided, commented on the care and hospitality of the care homes; “It was a pleasure for me and Councilor Colleen Atkins to visit Byron Court and Chaucer Court care homes today. Thank you to the residents for taking the time to speak to us and to the staff who work so hard every day to support the residents.”

Community engagement is high on the agenda for Byron Court and Chaucer Court care homes, which are operated by CareTech. CareTech’s Responsible Business Strategy, CARE4 aims to contribute in the locations in which we operate, and to enable the people we support to live, learn, thrive and engage in their communities.   CareTech PLC is supporting Care Home Open Week. As part of our CARE4 Responsible Business Strategy, we are fully committed to supporting the communities that we operate in and would welcome our neighbours to connect with us. We are keen to showcase our capabilities and resilience, but most of all highlight the life changing impact that Social Care has on some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

Mr. Yasin concluded his visit with a message. “Care homes provide vital services and it’s important that we face the social care challenges that our society has now and in the future.”
