Colleagues and residents celebrated Susan’s 30 years of service at a celebration party at the Home. Susan was presented with flowers and a gift card. Susan said: “I love working here. I am so thankful for the people I support. I get so much from them. They have helped me through some hard times in my life and kept me going.”

One resident praised Susan’s caring approach: “Sue is my friend. She talks to me, looks after me, and she makes me happy.”

Yorkminster Drive, in Birmingham, supports people with a learning disability. The Home also held celebrations to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the team as part of Good Care Month, which aims to inspire the public to consider social care as a viable career choice.

Sharon concluded: Every Home needs a Sue.”
