CareTech Achieves Significant Milestones for Net Zero Week
CareTech are proud to be taking an active part in supporting Net Zero Week which runs from the 2nd to the 8th of July.
CareTech is leading the way for the industry to become environmentally responsible through the implementation of its CARE4 responsible business strategy.
CARE4 guides the Group to manage the business effectively, ethically, and sustainably. It shows that social purpose and moral values are at the heart of the corporate strategy.
CareTech is committed to becoming a net zero business by 2050. CareTech is taking strict measures to save costs, reduce waste, and create a more sustainable environment. The Group has also been dedicated to switching to low carbon alternatives.
Group Sustainability Director, Jonathan Freeman MBE, has said “We know it is going to take a concerted effort over the long run. At a Group level, we are looking at our properties and vehicle fleet to make sure they are as energy efficient as possible and that we are taking advantage of innovation and technology to reduce our carbon footprint.
The Group has already seen very tangible impacts from the new strategy. In one of its specialist schools, Hill House in Lymington, the students and the team have reduced food waste, increased local purchasing and reduced transport costs, saving the school £6,000. The initiative has earned them an ‘Eco-Schools with Distinction’ Green Flag Award.
Group Sustainability Director, Jonathan Freeman MBE, concluded: “We are proud to celebrate our achievements so far this Net Zero Week and we commit to doubling our effort as we take the next step.”
