Extraordinary Days Every Day
With ROC Northwest, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures because as a Residential Support Worker every moment you spend with our young people helps them to feel safe, valued and supported.
A simple "How was your day?" or a shared laugh playing a game, being someone to listen and offer encouragement on a tough day. All these small interactions build trust, encourage communication and help to shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why you truly matter in vulnerable children’s lives.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be supporting young people with their daily routines like helping to ensure they get ready for school or college each morning, getting ready for meal times, checking on how their day went and planning activities in and around the home. Making sure care plans are up to date is essential and the children must feel their feedback and ideas are heard, this is their home.
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
Who Are You
You need to be someone who genuinely cares and wants to make that difference. Consistency in a child’s life is essential and you will be part of that consistency. This is not a stopgap job. The children need to see you are here for them through the bigger picture. Be warm, patient, be a great listener and offer those words of encouragement our young people need to hear. Stay focused on achieving outcomes for our children and take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.

A Little About This Home
Culcheth House is a gorgeous family home in a little village with a consistent friendly staff team and 5 beautiful children. We pride ourselves on being a family home away from home for our children here. We have a lot of fun and love giving them unique experiences. There is a real emphasis on learning and development from management level here at Culcheth, and we work hard to do the best for not only the children but the staff team too in reaching their potential and goals!
The children here have hearts of gold and absolutely love being a part of this little family and very much treat one another as siblings! They love getting out and about, they have friendship groups of their own and they make mistakes here and there in line with the wild journey that growing up is! We treat them as individuals, we understand that being a teenager is hard work and always try our best to be understanding of that – we do our best for them every day as parents would – which is key. There is a lot of love and respect both ways between the kids and the team here at Culcheth.
