Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Permanent | Full-Time | 35 hours per week

About the Service – Selborne Mews

Selborne Mews is a care home which provides care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder who enjoy a wide range of hobbies from Bowling and Swimming to Dance and Music. There is easy access to public transport and it is close to local shops.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, basic IT and written abilities, and be flexible and reliable.

The successful candidate will need to hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to undertake the training immediately upon appointment. Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or care environment would be desirable.

The Role: 

You will

• The Cook is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, hygienic environment in line with all health and safety, COSHH and food hygiene and handling legislation.
• Ensuring all dietary requirements, allergies, and preferences are followed.
• Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen to a high standard following meal preparation.
• Completing all required kitchen documentation, including cleaning records and temperature checks.
• Adhering to food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
• Reporting any stock shortages, maintenance issues, or concerns to the management team.
