Extraordinary Days Every Day
With ROC Northwest, you’re not just working - you’re shaping futures because as a Residential Support Worker every moment you spend with our young people helps them to feel safe, valued and supported.
A simple "How was your day?" or a shared laugh playing a game, being someone to listen and offer encouragement on a tough day. All these small interactions build trust, encourage communication and help to shape lives. Some days will be challenging but every breakthrough, every smile and every step forward will remind you why you truly matter in vulnerable children’s lives.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be supporting young people with their daily routines like helping to ensure they get ready for school or college each morning, getting ready for meal times, checking on how their day went and planning activities in and around the home. Making sure care plans are up to date is essential and the children must feel their feedback and ideas are heard, this is their home.
New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.
Who Are You
You need to be someone who genuinely cares and wants to make that difference. Consistency in a child’s life is essential and you will be part of that consistency. This is not a stopgap job. The children need to see you are here for them through the bigger picture. Be warm, patient, be a great listener and offer those words of encouragement our young people need to hear. Stay focused on achieving outcomes for our children and take pride in knowing you are helping to shape someone's life for the better.

A Little About This Home
Red Rock Lodge is more than just a children’s home, it is a place of safety, stability, and new beginnings where we create a warm and welcoming home that feels like family. Each of our young people is unique and our home is built on strong, trusting relationships and a belief that every child is capable of growth, healing, and success. Our young people remind our team why we chose this career, to provide safety, nurture, stability and opportunities where our young people can thrive. Seeing them achieve milestones makes us incredibly proud and we are inspired by their resilience and ability to overcome adversity.
We walk alongside our young people through all of life’s ups and downs, offering the guidance and encouragement they need to build a future full of hope and confidence. We are here for children who’ve experienced emotional or behavioural challenges, offering them a place where they are listened to, believed in, and supported unconditionally. We celebrate progress, big or small, together!
