Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our Children’s Residential Home. This is a key leadership role, combining hands-on care with management responsibilities to ensure the home operates safely, compliantly, and to the highest possible standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Registered Manager in leading, motivating, and developing the staff team
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and records are maintained to a high standard
• Take responsibility for the home in the Manager’s absence
• Support safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations
• Assist with staff supervision, training, and performance management
• Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs
About You
• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – essential
• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards) – desirable
• Previous experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and Ofsted requirements
• Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills
• Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people
