Female Team Leader - Supported Living

Location: Oldham
Salary: £14.29 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)
Contract: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Team Leader who is looking to develop their career within a supportive organisation that genuinely puts people at the heart of everything it does.

The Role

As Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the service, providing leadership, guidance and support to a team of Support Workers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.

Working closely with the Service Manager and external professionals, you will help create a positive environment where the people we support can develop their independence, build confidence and achieve their personal goals.
We support women aged 18 and over with a range of support needs, including: 
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) 
Autism 
Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) 
Learning disabilities 
Schizophrenia 
Trauma-related needs 
Our services provide a supportive, homely environment where people can develop their independence, build confidence, learn new skills and have opportunities to live life on their own terms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a team of Support Workers.
• Conduct supervisions, coaching sessions and team meetings.
• Support recruitment, induction and ongoing staff development.
• Create and manage staff rotas, annual leave and cover arrangements.
• Promote positive outcomes through trauma-informed and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches.
• Build strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
• Support care planning and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
• Lead by example and promote a positive, inclusive team culture.
• Provide hands-on support, including personal care where required.
• Support individuals to develop life skills, access the community and achieve greater independence.
• Attend and actively contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. 
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, social workers, commissioners, families and other relevant stakeholders. 
• Advocate for the people we support and ensure their voices, choices and aspirations remain central to decision-making. 
• You will also work alongside the people we support to: Provide personal care, including washing and dressing, where required. Support meal preparation and the development of cooking and everyday living skills. Promote independence, choice, dignity and self-advocacy.

About You

We are looking for someone who is resilient, compassionate and passionate about improving the lives of others.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker or Senior Care role.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and/or complex mental health needs.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or developing staff.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• An understanding of person-centred, trauma-informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently manage challenging situations.
• A flexible approach to working rota-based shifts.
• This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead by example, build strong relationships with the people we support and ensure that our values are reflected in everything the team does.
• A driving licence is preferred but not essential.

This is a role where experience, leadership and emotional resilience really matter. 
We are looking for an experienced care professional who has a strong understanding of supporting people with complex needs and who can confidently lead others in challenging situations. 
You will understand that behaviour is communication, that every individual is different, and that effective leadership means balancing high standards with compassion and understanding.
