Rate: £13.29 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (rota-based)

We are recruiting for a Support Worker - Female to join our supported living services in Oldham, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. About the Service – Oldham

We are looking for resilient, passionate, and positive women to join our friendly and experienced supported living team.

We support women aged 18 and over with a range of support needs, including:

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Autism
Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD)
Learning Disabilities
Schizophrenia
Trauma-related needs

What Will You Be Doing?

Every day is different. You'll work alongside the people we support to:

Provide personal care, including washing and dressing, where required
Support with meal preparation and developing cooking skills
Encourage independence and everyday living skills
Assist with household tasks and maintaining a safe, comfortable home
Create opportunities for people to try new things, build confidence, and achieve their goals
Use trauma-informed approaches to understand the person, not just the behaviour
Apply Positive Behaviour Support approaches to promote positive outcomes
Build genuine, trusting relationships based on respect, choice, and dignity
Support people to be active participants in their own lives and communities

Experience Required

This is a role where experience really matters.

We're looking for people who are confident supporting individuals with complex needs and who understand that behaviour is a form of communication. You'll need to remain calm in challenging situations, think creatively, and adapt your approach to meet individual needs.

You'll be resilient without losing your compassion, confident without taking away someone's choice, and experienced enough to recognise that sometimes the smallest steps are the biggest achievements.

Requirements

Ability to work unsociable hours on a rota basis
Relevant experience supporting people with complex needs
Drivers preferred, but not essential
Enhanced DBS required (paid for by CareTech)
Good communication and written skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
