25 hours per week, 39 working weeks per year

Salary of £14,171.65 per annum

The Domestic Assistant's job involves cleaning various parts of the property in order to maintain a clean, hygienic, safe and pleasant environment in which people can live and work.

Wing College

Cambian Wing College has a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16-25 who have needs of High-Functioning Autism and Complex Needs to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To attend work reliably and punctually.
• Clean all items and areas allocated to you by your line manager.
• To use all materials in an effective and economic way.
• Use all equipment and materials in a safe way, make sure that students/residents do not get hold of harmful substances whilst you are using them.
• Ensure that all equipment is stored securely in the correct place after use.
• Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and that of others. This implies taking positive steps to understand the hazards in the workplace, to comply with safety rules and procedures to ensure that nothing you do, or fail to do, puts yourself or others at risk. This includes contributing to a safe and secure environment for students.

Person Specification

• Knowledge of methods of cleaning different surfaces
• Knowledge of safe working practice
• Experience using equipment and materials in situations where care is needed to prevent harm to others.
• Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with young people and staff whilst working within a busy environment.
