Deputy Manager

Location: Church Fenton, Tadcaster

 

Pay: 

£15.79 = £32,843.20 up to £16.51 = £34,340.80 DOE plus £3000 average for sleep ins

Main Purpose of the Job:

To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the statement of purpose.           
To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.                                                     
To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.                                                                                                                         
To undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.                   
To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.                                                                                                                         
To offer supervisions and support to senior staff in line with care quality standards and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements

NVQ 3 in caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent)
Understanding of Ofsted framework (SCCIF)
12 months experience working in a residential setting with young people with challenging behaviour including supervisory experience.
Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation
Team Building Skills
Supervision Skills and ability to manage teams effectively
Excellent organisational skills
Ability to motivate and enthuse staff
A Full UK driving licence is required do to the location and nature of the role

*New staff must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately. Experience with Clearcare is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided. However, all staff are expected to confidently use digital systems as part of their day-to-day role.*
