Permanent| Full-time| 40 Hours Per Week

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic personal to join our Multi-Disciplinary team to deliver a person-centred therapy service to adults with acquired brain injury and cerebrovascular accident. We are seeking a dynamic Lead Occupational Therapist  to join our developing team of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Psychology and Nurses at All Hallows, Suffolk. All Hallows is part of the Oakleaf Group, a leading provider of specialist brain injury inpatient rehabilitation services.

About the Service - All Hallows

All Hallows is Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, provides specialist residential rehabilitation for individuals aged 18 and over with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). We also support a small number of individuals diagnosed with other complex neurological conditions, such as Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Guillain–Barré Syndrome (GBS).

Located in the quiet village of Ditchingham, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, All Hallows offers a calm, rural setting with access to a wide range of social and vocational opportunities. The centre is set within extensive wheelchair-accessible gardens, including a tranquil sensory garden created for reflection and relaxation.

The Role

You will:

  • To select and apply occupational therapy assessments for a caseload of people with complex needs which address occupational performance and skill deficits, and enables the service user in areas of self-care, productivity, leisure and recovery.
  • To promote evidence-based practice in occupational therapy. 
  • To establish effective communication networks with service users, carers, other health workers and agencies. To demonstrate skills in communicating complex sensitive and contentious information to service users and carers/families.
  • To contribute to the induction and training of students and other staff within the service
  • To provide specialist advice and support to OT colleagues in other clinical areas.

We’re seeking people who are caring, patient, and respectful, with a positive and resilient approach. You should be confident working independently and within a team, have good communication skills, and be flexible and reliable.

Requirements

  • You must have a degree or a post graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience in working with mental health needs
  • Must be a driver and access to own transport.
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
