Join Our Learning & Development Team
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Learning and Development Partner to join our Children’s Services division. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in residential children’s services who is committed to developing others and driving excellence in care through high-quality training and support.
Working closely with the Head of Learning and Development for Children’s Services, you will play a key role in delivering engaging, impactful training that equips both new and existing colleagues with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to provide exceptional care and support to children and young people.
This role is home based but will involve regular travel and overnight stays across the region.
About the Role
As a Learning and Development Partner, you will deliver and support a wide range of mandatory and specialist training programmes, including:
Welcome to CareTech
Safeguarding Children
Pillars (our internal positive approaches to behaviour training)
Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) and Missing From Home (MFH)
Emergency First Aid at Work
Medication
Ligature Awareness
You will use your practical experience within children’s residential services to bring training to life, ensuring learning is relevant, engaging, and aligned with best practice and current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver high-quality learning programmes in collaboration with the L&D team
Facilitate engaging training sessions for colleagues across children’s residential services
Organise and coordinate training delivery to ensure a professional learner experience
Assess and evaluate training effectiveness, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement
Maintain accurate training records using the Myrus system
Stay up to date with legislation, policy changes, and sector best practice
Act as a Subject Lead within a specialist area of expertise
Promote safe working practices and maintain high standards of health and safety
Champion CareTech’s values, equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout all training activity
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Minimum 3 years’ experience working within residential children’s services
Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and best practice within Health & Social Care
Experience and confidence delivering mandatory training subjects
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
Administrative experience including record keeping and report writing
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Relevant qualifications within mandatory training subject areas
Desirable:
Previous experience as a trainer
Training or teaching qualification
Experience managing resources effectively
