CareTech has announced a strategic investment in Decently, the developer of Melo, following the platform's demonstrated impact across specialist and complex care settings.
Melo enables clinical and care teams to record, analyse and better understand complex behaviour through structured behavioural recording, pattern analysis, and outcomes reporting. By transforming frontline observations into actionable evidence, the platform helps teams make more informed care decisions while preserving human relationships at the heart of care.
The platform has already demonstrated measurable results across NHS and independent services. In one NHS acute ward, night-time bank spend associated with enhanced observations reduced by 43%, while teams also reported improved documentation quality, greater visibility of behavioural information and reduced administrative burden.
Melo is currently used across acute NHS wards, specialist neurorehabilitation hospitals and independent complex care services, supporting people living with dementia, acquired brain injury, neuro-disability and behaviours that challenge.
Haroon Sheikh, Group CEO, and Farouq Sheikh, Group Executive Chairman of CareTech, said: “Our decision to invest in Decently was driven by what we saw in Melo itself. The platform is already demonstrating measurable benefits for clinical teams through improved efficiency, stronger documentation and better visibility of behavioural information”.
