Supported living leaving care
CareTech offers high quality supported accommodation for 16 and 17 year olds, designed to prepare them for independent living.
Our experienced team deliver personalised support for each tenant, treating every person as an individual with their own background, experience and ambitions. Our accommodation provides a safe and comfortable environment, operating a robust on-call system with 24 hour key worker mentors available. Each young person has their own agreed support plan based on the hours of care they require.
Training and lifelong learning
Our supported living service has the resources to offer academic development in-house, with qualified teaching staff helping residents attain recognised qualifications. In addition, we promote positive links with local FE colleges, employment and training providers.
We offer 6, 12 and 18 month programmes for young people. Focusing on social and emotional development, we provide them with the essential skills they need to prepare for living independently once they move on from supported accommodation.
Supported living leaving care – Case study
Names have been changed to protect identities.
Callum is 19 years old and has behavioural difficulties. He has recently left residential care and is living on his own.
Our independent living programme has helped him make this transition and our skilled team has worked tirelessly to create opportunities and activities to involve him in the local community.
Callum has been involved in army cadets, youth groups, horse riding, volunteering and guitar lessons. The efforts of his staff team have paid off and Callum has made many new friends along the way.
With the encouragement and help of staff he has managed to attain a qualification and is now in full time employment. Callum has never been more settled than he is now and his family are thrilled.
