Craig - a young man who came to CareTech after the breakdown of his supported living arrangements (housing association managed) says:

"I loved my housing association flat but people took advantage of me and I got into trouble with the police. CareTech found me a care home and took me straight from the police station. I had my own front door and my own place right next to the home and always had someone to support me. CareTech has now found me one of their supported living flats near my parents house and I am moving there next month with a friend. I am very grateful for everything they did to help me since I got into trouble."

Joan, who has a learning difficulty and profound physical impairments, became very ill with a virus and went to hospital for emergency treatment. She lives in one of our residential services in Kent.

The NHS found it impossible to support her properly, especially with eating and person care so for a time her illness became life threatening. CareTech placed care workers in the hospital, without any additional charge, to provide extra support for Joan. She subsequently regained weight and recovered.

Joan's mother considered that CareTech's prompt action and the support of really caring and skilled staff from the company made a real contribution to Joan's recovery.

Andy is severely physically impaired and has a significant learning disability. He had a really difficult history of failed residential placements and constantly changing care managers. He came to one of CareTech's dedicated transition services, learned the skills required for independence and some of the social skills required for normal friendships.

He has subsequently moved to one of CareTechs independent supported living schemes, sharing a house with his friend. He says of the transition services "you turned my life around. I now have friends and a house of my own." We wish him well.
